The Stratosphere Las Vegas hotel rates are very reasonable. They frequently offer rooms for as little as $35 per night. The rooms are advertised at "$29.99" but there is a mandatory $5/night "resort fee". 

These rates are very good value. This casino has large, clean rooms plus the attraction of the tower. It is worth going up just for the view even if you do not have the courage to try out the rides. You may also be able to get a discount on Stratosphere Las Vegas hotel rates if you sign up to the newsletter at their website.

The Stratosphere is the at the North end of the Strip, set apart from the other Strip casinos.They finished building it in 1996 and at first it did not do so well due to it's more remote location. However the reasonable room rates and the impressive rides at the top of the tower have led to it becoming a popular hotel. Also it is nearer Downtown than the other Strip casinos which some visitors, who like both areas, view as a bonus.

Attractions

It is most notable for its tower, which stands 1,149 feet (350 m) tall, making it the tallest structure in Las Vegas.

At the top of the tower you will find a revolving restaurant and an observation deck with a great view of the Strip. It also hosts 3 white-knuckle rides:

• The Big Shot is 1,081 ft high making it the highest attraction of it's type on the planet.
• Another ride at the top of the Strat tower is called XSCREAM. Anyone with the guts to get on is throw down over the edge of the tower.
• In 2005 they opened Insanity the Ride. This one is not for the faint hearted as it hangs riders over the edge of the tower before spinning round at about 40 mph!

Gambling

Casinos in less popular locations generally offer better gambling values than the most popular strip casinos in an effort to lure customers through their doors, and the Stratosphere is no exception. The Stratosphere has slot machines with a 98% payback, single-zero roulette and video poker machines with paytables over 100% - all of which are extremely rare at Vegas strip casinos.

"When we went here the check in took ages because there were problems with the computer system. However the room was in good order and the maid service was first class. The Stratosphere is at the top of the Strip, quite a way from the action, but it is good value and the monorail stop is only 2 minutes away. I would definitely recommend it."
